Edmund Burke and Revolution
Peter J. Stanlis - 07/19/11

Peter J. Stanlis, the dean of postwar Edmund Burke studies in America, died peacefully on July 18 at the age of ninety-one. As the author of Edmund Burke and the Natural Law (1958), he revolutionized the way Burke was viewed in the academy and made a vital contribution to postwar conservatism.

In memory of Dr. Stanlis, a longtime ISI Faculty Associate and mentor to countless ISI students, First Principles is proud to present Stanlis’s classic 1971 Intercollegiate Review piece “Edmund Burke and Revolution.”
